Chad is in North Central Africa, and not for the inexperienced traveller, with Boko Haram threatening in the South and the Libyan conflict crossing the border in the North. The country is currently considered unsafe to visit, and if you’re looking for a nice, safe, Westernised resort complex with all amenities included, this country is not for you. If you are going to go, be sure to look at the latest news and travel guidelines before you go. Travel is not easy, with no railways, and roads which are patchy at best, and quite often damaged from the fighting. This is, however, a remarkable country, sure to give you an experience you’ll never forget and push you well out of your comfort zone. Lake Chad has to be on your list of things to see, as does the capital, N'Djamena, the incredible vista of the Sahara, and the wildlife of the Zakouma National Park.
